8th Gippsland Rally Report PDF Print E-mail

gipps_rallyThe 8th Gippsland Rally got off to a great start with dinner at the Maffra Sports club on Friday night. The meals are always good and the company the same.

Saturday morning under clearing skies we meet at the Maffra Shed. After a chat, cuppa and briefing from Ian we were off. As usual Ian did a fantastic job of taking us around roads we would not normally see during day to day journeys in the area. Lunch and of course afternoon tea with Jan's Anzac biscuits was well organized thanks must go to those involved.

See over 50 photos in the Gallery Saturday night was at the Maffra Motorcycle Club. This was a terrific night, the meal was lovely, again thanks to those who slaved away in the kitchen. After dinner Ian showed some slides of his recent trip. I think it is safe to say Ian had a great time judging by his talk. After the slide show the raffle was drawn. Ian spoke a little about next year's rally and it was just about time for home.

Sunday morning again was dry when we meet at the shed. Again a briefing and off we go to the breakfast destination. It was a lovely ride  on some nice and windy road to breakfast.

On arrival at the breakfast spot, it appeared some of the reveller from the night before might have been a little worse for wear. I guess we have all been there , it was good to see that the campers were still alive and a couple did come over to see if they could partake in some of the elixir of life. COFFEE!!

After breakfast, a pleasant ride back to the shed to say our good buys.

Ian and Jan do a fantastic job with this rally and I must admit it is a great rally to start the year. If you haven't been on the Gippsland rally, pencil it in for next year, you will be doing yourself a big favour.

Many thanks Ian and Jan see you both next year.
