(Previously

For Veteran, Vintage and
Classic Motorcycles
September 13th
and 14th 2008.
A two-day tour of the Mornington Peninsula in memory of Frank Harrison who initiated
this rally in 1999 and who passed away after a stroke on 9th
November 2001.
Saturday Run – 1.00 pm
Assemble at the
Dromana Hub Shopping Centre car park, just past the pier at Dromana (Melways
159 H6) at 12.30pm for a 1.00pm start over picturesque and scenic roads. Afternoon tea will be at Pearcedale shopping
complex for tea or coffee at the Bakery or General Store at your expense. Returning with another run over coastal and
quiet back roads back to Dromana. A ride
of about 145km.
Petrol
is available near the starting point.
Saturday Evening
– 6.30 pm
A
good meal and good company is provided at the Dromana Hotel, Point Nepean Road
Dromana. Drinks at bar prices. Stay on and listen to the old-time jazz band
strut their stuff. We have been assured
they will be playing!
Sunday Run – 9.30
am
Assemble once
again at the Dromana Hub Shopping Centre car park at 9.00 am for a
9.30 am start. A tour of the
wonderful lanes and by-ways the peninsula has to offer is planned, punctuated
with morning tea at one of the cafes at Balnarring Shopping Centre, again at
your own expense. After a further run, a
BBQ lunch will be served once again at David and Pru Briggs’, 298 Purves Road
Main Ridge. At a suitable time, the
rally will take those that do not wish to make their own way home, back to the
car park at Dromana. A ride of
approximately 135km.
An old-time rally with slower speeds and shorter
distances to especially suit Classic motorcycles. Your rally organisers, Barbara Harrison and
Dennis Wright, hope you will come and let us share with you, the sights, sounds
and flavours the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.{mospagebreak}
