View Restoration of a Liberator Bomber Followed by a Barbecue Lunch in Laverton
Club member Bill Weedon has booked us in to view progress of the restoration of the one and only US Liberator bomber left in Australia. Towards the end of World War 2 hundreds of Liberators operated out of Australia and out of a total of 18,482 Liberator bombers built, there are just two airworthy Liberators left in the World.
This Liberator is under restoration at a hanger in Werribee and Bill will be leading us there from our start point at Laverton. There is a $5:00 entry fee.
Afterwards Bill will then lead us on to his place at Laverton for a barbecue lunch where we can also view the Motorcycle GP.
Please bring your own meat or snags.
Meet: Shell Servo, Princes Freeway Laverton just before Point Cook turn off (Mel Ref: 53 B11) 9:00am for 9:30 start
