Club Run Notice- Sunday 24th July
Morning tea at Broadford-lunch at Yea
Meet: Caltex servo Diamond Creek road Diamond Creek near corner of McLaughlans Lane Mel Ref: 11 D7
Time: 8:30 for 9:00am start
Lead Rider: Reg Hammond
Where to: First leg to Broadford via Yan Yean, Whittlesea and Wandong (approx. 65 kms). From Broadford we’ll ride the back way to Seymour then through Whiteheads Creek up to Highlands before riding down through Gin Gin and onto Yea for lunch and a re-fuel (approx. 80 klms). After lunch and re-fuel we assemble near the public toilets and bowling green for the start of the last leg.
We then ride directly down the Melba highway to a break up point near Yarra Glen (approx. 57 klms) arriving at approx. 2:00 to 2:30pm.
Total distance of our day’s run from Diamond Creek to Yarra Glen is approx. 202klms.
I will be riding back to Diamond Creek via Christmas Hills and Kangaroo Ground and Eastenders can head back home via Lilydale.
Riders returning to the start point would have travelled around 232 klms.
There is plenty of scenic country riding to be enjoyed just about everywhere on this run, particularly in the higher reaches between Seymour and Yea.
