Five of us met at Plus Petrol in Diamond Creek Road Greensborough. Eddie led us out down through Diamond Creek and on up to Hurstbridge. From here on the roads just got better as we rose up into Cottles Bridge, down and over through Arthurs Creek, over to Plenty Rd heading North to Whittlesea passing the paddock where we held our first club picnic day earlier this year. Always enjoy the run to Wandong via Upper Plenty where we rode close to and then over the Hume Freeway to our morning tea

break at Broadford. We then headed out West and made our way over to Pyalong and a brief stop and photo shoot at the old railway trestle bridge. I wonder just how many of these historic trestle bridges are still standing in Victoria? This one I think carried the railway line that linked Bendigo and Kilmore and closed who knows when? Probably late 40’s or early 50’s. We then did a short dogs leg over the Northern Highway and continued on through the spectacular rock strewn terrain to Kyneton via Emu Flat and Baynton. A very picturesque area this on minor and quite remote sealed roads plus a short length gravel strip that just for a little while woke us out of our tourist mode.  Thus far hardly a tin top in sight until of course going through the High St in Kyneton. Again hardly any other traffic as we rode out on the Trentham Rd and another brief stop at Tylden. Here we had a gander at the now completed impressive looking private racehorse breeding stud that has been under construction for approx 2 to 3 years. This stud is owned by the CEO of Toll Transport Industries (I think Paul Little) at a cost of around 75m. It’s on 100acres and is built on the lines of another stud complex he owns in Queensland. It’s all state of the art with video surveillance throughout including the birthing stables and there’s even a glass elevator that operates in the tower. The nearest we got to the place was outside the magnificent gates and a peep through to the manicured gardens inner entrance. The walls at the front seemed to be a kilometre wide! It would be good if one day we as a club could have a tour of this place. Bikies and thoughourbred racehorses? Maybe not. But then again why not? You never know! It was then onto Woodend for a pleasant lunch after which we went out the back of Mount Macedon and a very spirited ride over the top then down and over to Riddells Creek. From here to Monegeeta and Bolinda before diverting East twisting down over the little creek bridge then twisting up into the Konagadeera Springs arear. I think one day I just might be able to find my way out of this region in one go without Ed. Maybe not. We ended up dispersing at the side of the Tulla Freeway just past the airport. A very pleasant ride and one that I will be repeating soon with some slight variation. Also a good one for a Sunday Club run. Anyone like to come along? Thanks again Ed.
