All week I have been watching the weather forecasts of rain and debating whether or not to front up on Sunday. On the appointed morning I checked the weather out the window and decided to take the chance. Four brave optimists joined Jack at North Cranbourne Caltex Servo and at the appointed time of 9:30 we started off through Cranbourne turning right and heading for the Western Port Highway to Hastings and Balnarring Village Bakery for Morning Tea. I was delighted to see that Blueberry Muffins were featured to accompany the delicious coffee. A few drops of rain but no predicted showers. See photos in the Gallery.
Off again to Flinders on the Flinders/Boneo, Limestone, Truemans, Sandy, Backbeach/Dundas, Browns, Truemans/ Brown, Purvis Roads to Arthur’s Seat where we had a rest stop and had a look at the derelict Chair Lift. Still no rain, the roads are dry and even a patch of blue sky now and again. This is beautiful country with very little traffic along the winding roads. Weather still good, a perfect day.
Lunch at Red hill bakery in the sunshine now. Ted has decided to forego lunch and head home.
The plan was to return to the Caltex at North Cranbourne but it was decided to head to Hastings and then down the Western port highway to the Monash and home.
An excellent day and Ride. Thank you Jack, Your efforts are much appreciated.
