Harrietville Victorian Alpine Ride.
Labour Day Long Weekend 7th & 8th March 2009.
From the success of the Christmas Wonthaggi Ride several members have requested Dave and Normie to organize another ride. This will be held at Harrietville over the Labour day long weekend.
Harrietville sits on the Great Alpine Road between Bright and Hotham Heights. Harrietville is a beautiful Alpine Village with plenty of accommodation. This is gods country for the motorcyclist. Ride details as follows.
Day One. Harrietville over Mt Hotham to Omeo..
Meet at the Harrietville Pioneer Park, by river bridge, 9.00AM for 9.30AM start
Route will be up the Great Alpine Road to Hotham Heights village for regroup and morning coffee.
Continue on the Great Alpine road over Dinner Plain through Cobungra to Omeo for the lunch stop.
Return journey will be the reverse route.
Day Two. Harrietville to Lake Buffalo.
Meet at the Harrietville Pioneer Park, 9.30AM for 10.AM start.
Route will be down the Great Alpine Road to Bright out on the Ovens Hwy to Myrtleford for regroup and refreshments, note there is no food or drink available at Lake Buffalo, so stock up. From Myrtleford taking the C526 to Lake Buffalo for lunch stop and sight seeing.
Return journey will be the reverse route.
A backup trailer will be provided on both days.
