Presidents Report - Dec 2011 PDF Print E-mail
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all our members and their families.

There’s another year gone and I think to myself with amazement just where has it gone, must be the busy lifestyle the classic club has for its members.
Again November was a successful month with the High Country Muster in Mansfield, the weather and  riding were both perfect, well done Ray, also the club picnic day went off well, numbers were down on what we anticipated but I think this was due to the weather on the preceding days, you can read these reports further on in Sprocket.
Having commented, the club has a busy lifestyle, at November’s committee meeting we set out our calendar of events for the coming year,Peninsula Ride, Maffra, Bright, Baw Baw, Colac, Brass Monkey, Three Rivers, Marong, High Country Muster, Lake Gold Smith, Warrnambool, Stockley’s ride and Christmas break up, not to mention the midweek rides, club ride days and other incidental activities.

If anyone says there’s not much happening in our club I think it’s time they took up lawn bowls! .

As I announced at our last general meeting, if you are running any type of event within the club could you please get the entry forms or information regarding it to our editor, Richard Sommerville, at least three months prior to the event. I know this may sound a long time, however an example: if you were running an event in April, Richard would need all your information by the end of January so it would be in February’s Sprocket and you would receive the entries by the end of March.
Richard and I have copped a few grumbles in the past regarding activities etc not being put in Sprocket early enough, or even not at all, we can only print what you supply us and when.

In this issue of Sprocket there is a regalia form, should you desire any please fill it out and get it back to Ray so he can get a worthwhile order placed with our embroiders.

Entry forms for the “Over The Top by Default Rally” at Bright are starting to come in, if you have booked your accommodation and intend coming but haven’t yet sent your entry in could you please do so as Bill and I need to confirm the numbers with our catering venues.
Don’t forget our “Share Your Other Passion Night” Wednesday ,18th January 5:30 pm-8:30 pm at the club rooms, also the Peninsula Run on Sunday, 22nd January will be a ride well worth going on, and I’m quite sure Dennis will have a great ride planned for us, all details in the Sprocket.
Wishing you all a safe and happy festive season and look forward to sharing with you in the new year.
