Presidents Report - March 2007 PDF Print E-mail

An important PSL was held recently and it was a very enjoyable one.

It was David and Mynas 10th and last PSL.
David with the able assistance of his two sons Luke and Scot with head chef Ian Kennedy put on a feast.
I am also sure that some one else was looking over us on the day.

This is the essence of why we have these PSL,s and many enduring friendships have evolved from these social events over the years.
Looking around the back yard showed what diverse membership we have. Yes , Honda riders can talk to BMW and Triumph riders at the same time and this is what separates us from the one make clubs.
Primarily I am a motorcyclist for the lifestyle and what I ride comes second.

These occasions are important for new members as well.
We don’t seem to have the time where we can sit around and talk for an afternoon about our favourite past time or money burners in this fast age we live in.

New members...This is the best way to enjoy the Club life so come along and enjoy one of Pleasant Sunday Events.

You will see in this issue that the Picnic Day is taking shape Tony , David and Paul have put forward a great agenda for this fun day.
Please let them know that you are coming for the event.
This will be a family day and Ross tells me that he is open for bribes as a judge in the slow race event.

Well we are news worthy. We made the Herald and Weekly Times in the 28/2/07 edition with the Gippsland rally with a half page story and Photos. It showed how we can fit 60 people under a 12x12 tent in the pouring rain for lunch. Might go back down to the Prom to have a look in the dry weather.

The Website is going along nicely. If you have something for sale or want to put in some pictures Paul Caine will gladly oblige.
If you have an interest in web sites behind the scenes also contact Paul or myself as we would like to get other people involved in it.

On the Red plate scheme the AOMC is confident we will have the new 90 day permit system within 8 months and the third draft is before VICroads at the moment.
No real surprises are up there and who will administer the permit log books is still up for discussion .
Lets hope they get it right with minimal cost to us.

The Otways Rally is coming up so give it your support and don’t forget the Colac Rally in Malcolm and Chris’s back yard.

The Next Club run to Alexandra is prior to the club meeting so check your calendar.
