Presidents Report - Septt 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Now that spring is in the air, we have plenty of activities planned for the club, with our biggest event being the club picnic day at Whittlesea in November. You will read more about it further on in Sprocket, it is not a concourse day nor any type of competition(s) but rather a social day where we can get together as one and enjoy each other’s company. So get that bike out of the shed and let it  see the light of day, it doesn’t matter even if it’s not going just bring it along and display, they will be categorized into groups by their year of manufacture and there will be allocated times for them to be ridden on the day.

The “Over the Top by Default Rally” in March2012 is filling  fast , a special thanks to The General, (Ian Wallace) who has contacted  the members down Warrnambool way, got the numbers and confirmed their bookings your efforts have been appreciated. Also a thank you to all those members who have taken the time to contact and inform me that they have booked accommodation for this rally, as it has enabled Bill and I to go ahead and confirm the two morning tea venues for the Saturday and Sunday rides.

This year Ray Harrison is organizing another High Country Muster in November, as last year’s was cancelled due to the inclement weather, let’s get  behind Ray and show our support and make this a good rally, anyone who hasn’t been on this one is missing a very casual weekend and touring some magnificent countryside just made for motorcycles.

Please note there are NO activities at the club rooms in December, we intend to put more emphasis into Stocky’s ride and make that our Christmas barbecue/break up.

In January we have decided on the third Wednesday night to have a “share my other passion” evening where you can bring along, display or even discuss your other passion. You could have a stamp collection, an interesting clock, model plane or even be like Vern Dalton with his steam powered scale locomotives, more details as we get closer.

It also appears that we are going to have an organized club ride day down the Peninsula way on 22nd January 2012. This is great countryside and it will be a good time for a ride.

So as you read through Sprocket you will note there is plenty happening between now and April 2012.
