Most Deserving, they are the two words that describe Ian & Jan Kennedy’s life membership award at the July AGM.
Over a period of many years Ian & Jan have been a pair of quiet achievers. In many different ways they have been staunch supporters of the Classic Club through rallies and events, and to the betterment of motorcycling in general.
As well they have bought much joy to less fortunate people than ourselves, with his wheelchair equipped sidecar, Ian has been able to do in excess of 800 rides for the disabled, people who, without his time and dedication would never have experienced something we take the granted.
The Phil Irving award, this year going to Wayne Killingsworth, was a most deserving recipient. As you are aware he has been our membership secretary for the past five years, also Wayne has been a very supportive and active member on our committee.
This year’s AGM was very well attended, thanks to all those who took the time to attend, and from the feedback it seems everyone had an enjoyable evening .
I would like to personally thank all those who helped make it such a successful event, Belle and Jackie in the kitchen with their helpers Keith & Kevin also Dot and Kay.
The hot dog night was a success and the sweets that Belle took the time to make really finished the night off well, after two servings of the trifle with Violet crumble on top, it really took a lot of self-control  not to make a glutton of myself, although I know one member who went back for third’s.
Also I would like to thank the committee, they have been a very  supportive of me throughout the year, with their support we (the club) have been able to enjoy some very successful events .
As well I would like to pass on my appreciation to a couple of members who have helped me during the year with some issues that have arisen, they know who they are, your advice and guidance on certain club issues was greatly appreciated.
So as we head into the new club year 2011/12 we have many rallies and ride days planned, lets  get those classics out of the shed and allow them to see some sunlight for a change.
