Presidents Report - July 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Activities for June were a little on the quiet side, but as we say it's that time of year. The first Sunday of the month ride to Beaufort was well attended and a good time had by all, our club ride day being combined with the three rivers ride at Geelong also was an enjoyable day.  Also I   was impressed to see the number of riders that came down from Melbourne, you will read more in the ride reports further on in sprocket.

Having said things have been a little quiet, from September the club has many activities planned through until the end of March. We have the Ballarat Springtime Bask in September plus the club run to Elaine Watsons at Maldon ,combined with the Bendigo club. October Bill Weedon has planned a ride to Werribee to inspect a B 24 Liberator then back to his residence in Laverton for a PSL and watch the Moto GP at Philip island on TV, also that month our club captain, Reg is planning a club ride day to include a “brunch”, as well as this the Warrnambool Rally is on the last weekend in October.

In November we have the High Country Muster at Mansfield , also this year we are having a club picnic day at K&J Thomas’s property, Whittlesea. The picnic day will be run similar to the one held previously at this venue, so you've got plenty of warning to get those seldom seen, started or the even ridden motorcycles out of the shed for the day. Between now and then there will be notices in sprocket regards this event, however please note this is a closed club event, not open to the public.

Because of the picnic day at Whittlesea the committee has decided to cancel the usual barbecue at the clubrooms in December. In doing so we intend to put a little bit more emphasis on stocky’s ride and combine that as our end of year finale. Those who don't want to ride just turn up and enjoy the lunch and a relaxing afternoon in pleasant surroundings.

February we have Maffra, March is Colac as well as the “Over The Top by Default Rally” four day event, so as you can see we have plenty of activities ahead.

Please note .. there will be NO activities at our club rooms in December/January.
