Presidents Report - Feb 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Now the festive season is over and hopefully the rain, we have all turned open a new calendar

and can look forward to another great year together on motorcycles.

My personal sympathy goes out to anyone who has been effected by the diverse weather that

we have recently experienced.

I was quite taken by a photo that appeared in the Warrnambool Standard of someone rowing

a boat around the pavilion at the Panmure football reserve in the exact area where we parked

our motorcycles and cars on the Warrnambool rally for Saturday afternoon tea only a few

weeks earlier.

It is hard to comprehend the volume of water that has passed down Mount Emu Creek

(Panmure) having lived in the area, and it was nowhere near as hard hit as other parts of the

state still suffering the flood waters.

Our Christmas BBQ breakup at the club rooms was a pleasant evening with the usual

attendance of members, as it was a cooler evening everyone chose to stay inside and it

made quiet a social evening together with a few drinks and many tall tales were shared.

This year the club has quite a busy year of rallies and club run days planned with our biggest

event being our  40th anniversary rally at Beechworth in April,  an update is in this

months sprocket.

Please read your club calendar carefully as the club run days have been shifted to the Sunday

After the clubs general meeting night, in the past the club run day had often fallen before the

meeting and a lot of members had not even received their sprocket, so please take note of the

change.

This will also enable us to announce the upcoming club run at general meeting and give a bit

of a description of the ride that is planned and this may help bolster the attendances.

Numbers have been building for the Maffra Rally on the 12th and 13th of February.

Another good event to take note of is the Colac Rally 5TH & 6TH of March, Malcolm

and Christine Wilson always do a good job of this weekend and it makes for a very casual

type of rally and I always look forward to Saturday's scones.

On March 13th the Baw Baw run is on again and I hear a few Vincent's are turning up for this

one so come along and support Colin Sullivan with this ride, I'm sure it will be a good day.

In closing I would just like to say, any member(s) who go to the time, trouble and effort of

organizing a ride or event deserve our support.
