As you read through this month's sprocket you will become aware that I made it to the Vincent rally in Queensland last month along with two other classic club members, however riding there, doing the rally and riding back on a 60-year-old motorcycle was quite a challenge and personal achievement.

With this months general meeting being a presentation night, years of membership badges, rather than try and squeeze in a guest speaker the committee suggested I give a little insight  on our Queensland adventure (the bits Bob didn't print) you will be surprised !!.

On a more serious note we have a couple of very good rallies coming up and I strongly urge members to give some serious thought to attending them.The first one is the 30th Warrnambool Surf City Safari, “Don Henderson & Dick Donohue” Rally.

Please be aware quite a few things have been changed this year, make sure that youread your entry form. I note that the distances are ideal for classic bikes Saturday approximately 90 km total & Sunday 3 legs each 75 km = total 220km so come along, get those classics out of the shed and make it a great weekend in the memory of “Don and Dick”, after all they were the foundation stones of Warrnambool club!.

The second rally coming up is the “High Country Muster” in mid November at Mansfield. This is also a very good weekend away, with a barbecue lunch Saturday at Rays Retreat then an evening meal of your own choice at Mingos restaurant. Sunday is a short ride and counter lunch at the Delatite hotel before heading home, this makes it quiet and inexpensive weekend.

Ray puts a lot of effort into this rally, he makes his weekender available to us for the barbecue which is in a picturesque and relaxed setting, also it is fantastic motorcycling country, not far from Melbourne so once again get an entry form in and come along and enjoy a great weekend.

I would like to encourage club members to come along and support anyone who is prepared  to organize a day ride, a weekend rally, a PSM or even just a B-B-QUE in the backyard, we don't care what you turn up on or in just come and enjoy.
