Presidents Report - Oct 2009 PDF Print E-mail
The news is out – for the 1st year in a long time, we had more members join our club than leave – positive membership growth – and that’s great news.

There will always be retirees or transferees, but even without some previously relied upon membership feeder functions, the numbers are rolling in.  This is no doubt due in part to both the past and present initiatives by committee and members, so let’s all keep spreading the word...!

The months fly past and are always full of exciting bike moments and no more heart warming, than arriving on the scene,  “just in time”, for the Ballarat Springtime Bask at Buningyong, to a car park and the surrounding street, full to capacity with a diversity of Classic bikes rarely seen these days.

Compliments to Burger, Margaret, Bruce and those involved for organising this wonderful weekend rally – one of the best the club has seen for a while.

Congratulations also to those who made the effort to travel the distance with representation from all corners of the state.

With footy fever winding back, what better way to spend the “morning after” the Grand Final (for those that noticed), than joining with 20 or so other club members at Elaine Watson’s, PSM.

The indoor function was enjoyed by all with the last bodies not leaving till 1.30pm, (thanks Elaine).

Our thanks are also extended to the Dunn family for their accommodation for the last 2 committee meeting evenings, a very pleasant environment and much thanks.

Lead riders and back up trailer drivers are always needed, so if you have been hankering to blast out front or cruise at the rear please call Burger or Paul to register your interest.  You will feel much better for the experience.

Till next time, stay safe and upright.

Paul Caine.
