Presidents Report - August 2009 |

As we start the New Year, I extend a special thank you to David Langridge, the departing President for all that he has done over the last 18 months. During a busy time in his and Jennie’s live he has kept the club alive and well. Thank you, from all the membership.
As suggested at the recent meeting, this will be the year of contribution…. where ever you can, whenever you are invited, see what and where, you, are able to make a contribution… no matter how big or small, to the improvement of the Club in its overall provision of its service to the members. And that is simply to be the bringing together of, riding and enjoyment of Classic Motorcycles in 2009 and beyond.
For the balance of 2009, I hope to set a path for increased efficiencies where ever we can in the club, as well and driving membership growth, thru the existing members referring contacts, thru an increased awareness via the clubs web site, and finally thru less, but more significant rallies that will attract attention and interest, followed by applications from a wave of potential new members.
Please join in the next General meeting, as there will be a host of items of interest, as well as a massive FREE GIVE-AWAY.
During a recent clear out of Club Storage facilities, we found a vast amount of old regalia, back issues of Sprocket and Bike Display signage that will be offered for free to any one that wants it. It’s too good to be boxed up and left to rot, so come and discover some classic goodness.
Also, Graham Boulter will present the extensively updated web site and showcase the 5 key areas of the clubs web site that are of value to you the membership…. and a special Video presentations that will alert you to some of the resources that the club has in its hands.
Finally, please note the request for just 10 members to step forward, stand out and be a contribution to the club in the year & come offer your assistance as a lead rider for a monthly ride sometime over the next 12 -18 months. We have the rides ….we just want you to lead the charge. So if you have a passion to lead a ride north, south, east or west, slow or not so slow, I welcome your call on the numbers at the front.
