Presidents Report - May 2009 PDF Print E-mail
I recently realized the strength in the community that Motor Cyclists hold. The Club was asked to help with
the Ride for the Hills event to raise money for Bushfire Victims.Pail Caine and I wnt to StKilda on the 5th of
April to check riders in for the start of the vent.
There were in excess of 7000 bikes turned up for the start to ride from St Kilda to Whittlesea .It was all very well organized
with many Motor Cycle Clubs assisting with the Event. The sprit amongst all the people present was fantastic and their
generosity was very strong.I understand that well in excess of $150,00,0 was raised.
Phillip  Whyte past President of the Indian Club has organized a Ride to the Flowerdale Pub on the 28th of May.As you are no
doubt aware Flowerdale was devistated during the fires and I have figures of 80% of the houses in Flowerdale were destroyed.
Many of us have ridden through Flowerdale during the years and it is difficult to comprehend what has happened to the people
of this Community.
Many Clubs are supporting this event and I ask those not going on the Baw Baw run to support this event.
The Club ha available Raffle Tickets at $25 each for sale. The ticket will allow you to possibly win very substantial prizes
and support a Community in distress.Tickets will be availble at the next Club meeting and I urge members to support this cause.
If you can't make it to the meeting  but want to buy a ticket or two give me a call at home on 03 95962709 and I will arrange ut
for you.
You will notice in this edition of Sprocket the Nominating form for the Committee and Club Officials for the next year.Once again I
ask you to consider Nominating for one of the positions.Paul Caine or I would be happy to discuss it with you if needs be.
Remember its not"What Can the Club Do For Me But What can I do for the Club"

Ride Safely.
