Presidents Report - October 2008 PDF Print E-mail
We had another good meeting on the 17th of September. It was great to see three generation of the Myers family present, Tom, Greg and Luke are all great supporters of the Club and I am sure that this is a first. Maybe if members
Started bringing some of their children along they may be interested and we could pick up some more new, and younger Members.

Unfortunately we were let down at the last minute by the Guest Speaker from Penrite Oils this is disappointing because Penrite have supported the Club over the years and I for one have been using their products. If any of you have heard an Interesting speaker at some other Club recently could you please let me know. It adds to the meeting I feel if we can regularly have an interesting Speaker.

The new system of the Committee meeting prior to the Club meeting seemed to work well and will be continued on. Remember the rooms will be open from 7.30.

We had a very successful run to Kerrisdale Railway on Sunday. A beautiful day and a good turn out. What Andrew Forbes has done In setting up the Railway is incredible. I have seen some major restorations over the years but the thought of building a Railway On the side of steep country from nothing is pretty daunting. I would suggest that for those of you that could not make it is worth a trip.
Special thanks to Reg Hammond for arranging the ride.

Now the weather is better I suggest that you stop polishing your Classic Bike and start coming on the runs. Remember it is your Club and we do cater for Classic Bikes. If you are concerned that your bike might be a bit slow it does not matter. The runs will be run at the Speed of the slowest bike and we are keen to see you participate.

Ride safely.

David Langridge.
