The Little River T.T.reunion on 22nd June
promises to be a fantastic event. It is getting plenty of good promotion within the
motorcycling fraternity including our club. We have been allocated an area to
display 20 bikes [or more] so make sure you have yours polished and ready to
go. This will be a golden opportunity to promote our club to all and sundry.
Don't miss out, either come on the club ride or go directly to the venue. See
last month's Sprocket for a full report on the history of the event.
The club has arranged some excellent guest speakers for
the coming meetings up to July. If you feel you have a suitable speaker give one
of the committee a ring and we will slot them into our calendar. See the guest speaker
details in this issue.
I spoke with Polly Smith the other day and she expressed
her gratitude to the members for their good wishes and the club's commemorative
plaque to John Stock and she hopes to be back involved with the club very soon.
Her son is taking over one of John's bikes while another one is to be exhibited
at the Maffra Shed Museum. Our best wishes to
Polly.
I have contacted the club's Public Liability insurers
regarding two most queried issues that have arisen lately. Firstly; if
non-classic club persons participate in a classic club event they are not
covered by our policy and would be on their own should they be involved in a
mishap. Secondly; if the club intends to run a special event or extra event to
our normal registered calendar we are obliged to notify our insurers to access
the risk factor and any possible additional conditions and or premium costs.
I will be in Queensland for the May and
June meetings and David Langridge will be Chairperson for general and committee
meetings. The Haigslea motor cycle museum is between Ipswich and Toowoomba and
from all reports is up there with the best It was closed on my last visit, but
this time I will get some photos for Sprocket.
Classics need TLC, but they also need exercise.
Ray Isles.
