John Stock - known to his mates as Stocky. A fair dinkum no frills Aussie adventurer who bounced along with a big smile and enjoyed life to the fullest . His favourite saying was" let's give it a go and see what happens".

John joined the Classic Motor Cycle Club on 1st March 1986 and in July 1997 was elected to the role of Membership and Assistant Secretary which enabled him to streamline membership into the computer age. After 9 years in this role he was elected as President in July 2006 and held it to this date.

John leaves the Club and its members with lasting memories of his
friendly nature and enthusiasm in enjoying Club activities with initially the Ariel, the R60 B.M. and his skills to ride them in the wet or dry. His background knowledge allowed him to be an accomplished Do It Yourself enthusiast and afforded the opportunity to advise and help others Conversations and experiences about motor cycles, his racing days, stationary engines, boats, fishing, traveling, food and a cold beer meant he was always a sure bet for a good yarn.

As an Adventurer John and his best mate Polly traveled extensively overseas and within Australia by motor cycle or 4 wheel drive. John, you and your Dunlop volleys and old racing leathers will be sadly missed on our Rallies.

The committee and membership of the Classic Motor Cycle Club of Victoria wishes to pass on their sincere sympathies to John and Polly's families and wish John bon voyage on his next big adventure in the here after. Ride on Stocky.
