Passion Night

passionnightThe "Share Your Other Passion Night" held on Weds 18th Jan, was by all accounts a great success, (unfortunately I was unable to attend).
On display were die cast cars, model railway locomotives, quilt making, fly fishing and a host of other things.
Congratulations to all those that bought along their other passion for others to see and enjoy and to Gordon Paterson for his passion about organising this event.
Go the Gallery to view some great photos of this night.

Stocky's Run and Xmas BBQ

stockys_run Leading up to the run weather forecasters had predicted rain for Sunday and that proved to be the case as it was a very wet departure for me as I left Greensborough.

However on my way down to Polly’s place in Cockatoo the rain cleared up nicely after I had ridden through Yarra Glen. Luckily the rain kept away for the rest of the day.

The forecast must have definitely affected numbers as we only had nine starters for this the 4th Stocky’s (memorial) Run. After Polly welcomed us we enjoyed a cuppa and a natter and it was soon time to get going.

High Country Muster Report
mansfield This was the 14th of these rallies, and we met at Ray’s Croydon North home with a good turn range of classics for a cuppa and a chat before we set off via back roads for Healesville and then the winding climb through forest greenery up the  Black Spur road. With the weather holding good we paused at the top, then Ray led us down the hill and through lovely countryside to Alexandra, with the Cathedral Ranges an attractive scene to our right.

Midweek Ride Report Nov

nov_midweekWe met at the service station near the Calder racetrack in overcast conditions and a forecast of showers, so most of us had our wet weather gear on. Ed, who had travelled 90 km from home to our start point, briefed us and said we were heading to the Tank Museum at the Puckapunyal Army base.

At Lancefield we met Bill’s brother Don and his wife Val and with our convoy enlarged we rode to Pucka via Broadford, avoiding the Hume Freeway. Most hilltops along the way were shrouded in mist and rain and though we were lightly showered on we didn’t get very wet. At Pucka we checked in at the security gate, showing our licences as ID and being issue with tags, then we rode to the shopping area for morning tea. The sun was out and suddenly we were all too hot – I had the misfortune to observe a well-known club member expose his legs in the middle of the car park while he changed into something more comfortable!

Brunch Run to Healseville

healsevilleSixteen riders met at the ‘apple peel’ servo in Templestowe for the 10: 00 am start.

What a cracker of a morning it was, lovely and sunny and a forecast of 30 c.

This year’s run was a combined effort between Richard Haughton (back up) and Ross Patrick (leader).

This was our 2nd Healesville ‘brunch’ run and a follow up to Richards successful inaugural run  last year with a slight variation to the route.

We left on time and rode out east to Warrandyte then north up to Kangaroo Ground, down to Wattle Glen, through Hurstbridge, up to Panton Hill then cutting back down Alma Road to the Eltham/Yarra Glen Road.
